Sorry to hear that! I often feel like I am going to fall, and on a few occasions I have prevented falling by holding on to something. However, my almost falls are due to dizziness.

it can affect the muscles, check out myositis, there is another one that I can't recall the name of.......they can do a muscle biopsy to tell if thats what it is.....or it could just be one of those fluke things that we all get.....I always wonder what fresh new weirdness it this every time I get a new ache or pain or strange symptom.....most of them turn out to be nothing, just a quirk.

I have fallen about 6 times this year. I dont know why either. Now on every visit the doc asks me have I fallen lately but has never done anything about it, or told me what he would plan to do if it gets worse

This is exactly what happened to me. I would get up to turn the alarm clock off and collapse from weak legs. I collapsed walking to my car and even in the shower. It is what prompted me to get medical attention.

Besides the fall, yesterday I noticed pain in my mouth, where my front upper gum meets my lip and today it looks like a canker sore. Both my GP and my Rhumey (who I saw for the 1st time 2 wks ago) asked if I had been having mouth sores and at that time the answer was no. They also asked if I had dry gritty eyes - I do not but recently I do have excessive tearing in my left eye from the outside corner. In Oct this same eye was tested and showed elevated pressure....now this is something I never told the Drs as I kind of poopahed it back in Oct as the ophthalmologist did not make a big deal of it. I will be sure to let them know.

I called my GP (since my Rheumy is not in my town today) and told the nurse of the falling and the mouth sore and my GP doc wants to see me tomorrow.

What I find is that sometimes I do not lift my leg as far as I thought I have. This will result in my foot catching on the top of the dog gate when I am trying to step over it, knocking it down. I also trip over cracks in the sidewalk frequently. It's like my brain sends the command "raise your left foot ten inches" but my leg only raises it nine. Happens more in the leg where I had the blood clot.

Not sure why, but it happens mostly in my left leg. I'll just be walking along and then fall onto the floor after my leg gives out. I now use the handrails on staircases :)
