Yes what a word I had to google it. This is yet another side effect of MCTD!!! I have been having terrible GI issues as we all do reflux Gerds etc. Finally was so bad(Not enough to loose weight LOL) that they did a gastic empting test. Guess the stomache doesnt really move or empty right. this is a componet of scleroderma! Because it doesnt empty right I have a BEEZOAR or a pile of undigested food in the belly. Talk about miserable I look 9 months pregnant after I eat. Anyway just like to share just in case anyone else runs into this issue which I hope not!!!

By the sounds of it that is the only good thing about it.

Yes the cure is surgery to suck it out after drinking meat tenderizer 3 times a day for a month the soudium about killed me!!! I am hoping to have this done soon. I guess it's cause is gastric paresis or slow emptying llike I said seen in scleraderma and diabetics(which i am not) Nice fyi about Ron I had forgot that I sure hope it heals me and Im hoping its about 6-7# when I deliver it LOL Prob wishful thinking!!!

Hi, I have not been on in a long while. I also have digestive issues, many of them. I have whats called Gastroparesis (food does not digest) I get nauseated always, sick from most foods, have lost over 35 pounds in 3 months, stomach is always bloated. I also have a twisted stomach, hiatal hernia, barrett's esophagus, GERD and sjogrens. When I talked to my GI dr he said my stomach issues had nothing to do with my MCTD, but my rheumy says oh yes it does and all the research shows it is related to Scleroderma. Anyway, I know your pain and it is awful. On top of everything else we have to deal with...just isn't right. I hope you are well, hope everyone is well. I have been out of sorts for a while and have not been on.
