Back Pain

I didn't fall down. I didn't do anything to hurt myself. There are no visible signs of swelling. The GP says pinched nerves in my back. It came on all at once and has progressively gotten worse. I am trying to be practical and look at the obvious and say 378+ pounds, if i were a nerve i would be in a bind also. The pain is strongest at my lower spine. But pain is radiating down to my butt around my love handles. This is that sweating making you sick to your stomach pain. So far they gave me Oxycodine,gabapentin and tizanidine. its been two weeks and is only getting worse. Don't know who to go see. Will call my rhumy to make the call after they finish replacing my AC. Any similar problems or experiences. ty in advance

I have definitely dealt with back pain over the years - sometimes radiating down my legs. But, mine is usually when I bend the wrong way or something. Could it be your mattress?? :/

SOunds like it could be your sciatic nerve. Dealt with that when I was pregnant! It can literally be a pain the butt! Some muscle relaxers might help or you could go see a chiropractor! Hope it feels better soon!

I have wicked back pain, but radiates down from my lower back, not up towards my hips.
I have disk degeneration with the MCTD, so not much they can do about it. Ibprophen and pain killers.
I do know it is much, much worse when I sit for a long time, I'll get up and can barely swing my leg forward in order to walk. Weird I know, but the more I can move the better my back feels.
All our nerves run down the back though, no telling which one is getting pinched, it can be tricky business.

Have you tried acupuncture for the pain or chiropractic adjustment? I hope you find something that works for you.....sending you good vibes!

Try a chiropractor. "unexplained" pain seems to be common with this disease. I found a herniated disc in my back, but have a lot of hip and leg pain down one side. I'm seeing a chiropractor who has been adjusting my back and neck and its making a difference. Give it a try! Meds are a help but won't do anything long term.
