Here's wishing you all are getting the help you need. I am not going to have computer access like I have lately so I wanted to just say hey what's up. I would not be clean and sober if it were not for MA.
I go to the alcoholism group here on DS. I think for me early on I was able to go to AA because I recognized I needed to learn about recovery and 12 steps and AA is more accessable than MA. I went into AA knowing I drank more than I wanted so I was able to qualify. I find that the alcoholism group is a whole lot more active probably because MA and the problem of marijuana addiction is much newer and smaller than AA, but growing by leaps and bounds. The recovery issues are similar for me and I want to encourage anyone here who is needing help to keep trying.

Thanks Loved1. I've heard that before. The only problem is this - I have lots of friends who go to AA but they still smoke weed. They tell me weed is nothing. I don't really believe that or I wouldn't be here but I find it's hard to get the support to quit. When you went to AA, did you tell them it was really marijuana you were addicted to?

When I went to AA I was open about being a marijuana addict. I said I had a history with alcohol abuse, too. Eventually I was able to identify as an alcoholic because I realized I could rarely stop at the amount of drinking I wanted to and I couldn't say no to alcohol. When I admitted I had a problem with alchohol (even though it wasn't my drug of choice like pot) I was finally able to have a reason to say no. I have been clean and sober ever since. I have never met anyone openly smoking pot in AA and claiming sobriety, though I have heard a friend know of someone who did that. I have known people in AA to smoke pot and recognize it as relapse. I have known a couple people in MA who continue to drink and claim sobriety. I am glad I finally "got" it and abstained from all mind and mood altering chemicals, including alcohol, because I am an ADDICT.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
