We are what we eat. The quality of our food greatly influences the quality of our bodies, and our bodies immediately influence the quality of our minds. Eat light.
Heavy, greasy food makes for heavy, stale thoughts.
Sugar is a depressant.
Too much meat can put a lot of work on the liver and can retard the digestive system. Meat that is full of adrenaline from the moment of slaughter can pump us with fearful or tremulous sensations, or anger. It is subtle, sometimes not so subtle, but it is a physiological occurrence.
As far as amino acids goes, there is a very enjoyable way to take them: Put 2 tablespoons of bragg amino acids in hot water, and enjoy it as a tea, which takes like soup broth.
That would be a lot cheaper thatn 20 bucks for 20 tablets. If b-vitamins are another main ingredient, that is also cheaper.
Eat light, feel light,
I write this as my face breaks out in zits from being on the road for work for so long and having too much fast food! I really feel it. I knew it too, when I resorted to a few too many fast food meals, that I'd feel it.
As far as the, "growing emptiness inside of you"...I say don't try to get rid of it. Of course, eat right, stay sober, abstain from unwholesome activities. Just observe the emptiness and keep living the way that you know is correct, as best as you can. Remind yourself constantly, "This too shall pass." Be a scientist, "And how long will it last?". Just observe.
Be easy on yourself. If you need extra rest here and there, or can't be all Mr.Social here and there, or are not inspired to be all creative...no worries!
Emptiness happens. Don't even lose energy analyzing it, trying to figure out why it is there. If something is grossly wrong with the way you are living, it won't take much thought or journaling to figure it out. Not if you are sober.
Do some journaling about your goals, but don't lose mental balance trying to chase passing phases, trying to superficially or prematurely recapture past sensations. And take baby-steps toward your goals. and live a wholesome life to the best of your abilities. We all know deep inside what is right or wrong. If we live in the way that is right, we won't be further multiplying our mental tension or unrest.
The emptiness will arise from time to time, and it will also pass. Learn to deal with it objectively, equanimously.
Won't be online again till Monday.
Peace!
and yes, that adrenaline concept is fascinating. I would love to be inside your brain for a day.
