Marijuana Addiction & Recovery Support Group
This community is dedicated to those looking to overcome their addiction to marijuana, a drug produced from parts of the cannabis plant. Join the group to find support among people who are also looking to cease their habit of smoking marijuana, share your experience, and get advice. It's not easy to kick the habit, but together we can.
I don't think ANY of those things could help me until I addressed my marijuana addiction / alcoholism.
I used weed daily all day every day to change how I felt, and I couldn't control my alcohol consumption even though I didn't usually want it.
Until I got clean AND got into the 12 step program, I don't think I really gave myself a chance to make healthy changes. To think of the counseling I got while I had that lifestyle was a waste, because I was not willing to change that first thing - putting a substance in my body that totally affected me. And I couldn't live a happy life free from marijuana without the support of others on a similar path using the 12 steps, in my opinion. Something was missing. Now I feel a sense of serenity and purpose and peace I have never known. I have hope that I am changing in a positive direction, and I am watching others in my program do it every day, and I love it.
There is no drug that will help you DEAL with your problems... That comes from a clear conscious mind (which, obviously, stopping weed will do). It's good that you know what your problems are, though. I know it's cliche but that IS the first step.
