Marijuana Addiction & Recovery Support Group
This community is dedicated to those looking to overcome their addiction to marijuana, a drug produced from parts of the cannabis plant. Join the group to find support among people who are also looking to cease their habit of smoking marijuana, share your experience, and get advice. It's not easy to kick the habit, but together we can.
Al Anon is really helpful for me in dealing with the addict alcoholic boyfriend in my life, and I started attending months ago before he relapsed after nearly 3 years clean and sober. It helps us learn how to live live with serenity despite what the substance abuser is doing or not doing.
Our thinking gets disturbed. We become angry, obsessed, worried and guilty. It can be really painful.
In learning about recovery from substance abuse and alcoholism, I am less inclined to take personally a loved ones using. I realize addiction is real. Will power doesn't usually work for recovering addicts and alcoholics, the 12 step program of recovery has a high success rate considering options available. BUT no one can make someone else quit, they have to want it, and even then it is not usually easy. (take a look at this board and see how many people who want to quit have- hopefully more people here will learn of marijuana anonymous - that is what worked for me and other sober potheads I know who are living life clean and joyfully for the most part)
