And How! For most, misdiagnosis is the beginning. Most of us are not diagnosed as having Lyme for years, since there is not a good test for Lyme. Many of us are told for years that there is nothing wrong with us. We spend years feeling terrible, and spend years and tens of thousands of dollars on test after test of trying to figure out what is wrong with us. Somehow, someway, we have on our own found our way to an LLMD doctor. Stick around, its interesting and very scary. This is a wicked roller-coster ride through Hell.

If you had a tick bite, went to your dr. immediately, he immediately put you on abx for a month, you may be ok. However, if the dr. says "ah it's only a tick bite, you don't have a rash" and refuses to put you on abx, or you don't even know you had a tick bite, etc etc -in other words if you've had it awhile, a month of abx may make you feel ok for about a month. Then it will all come back again. Unless you are a one in a million case, and I pray you are! Good luck and keep us posted.

My little brother had it like your doctor described. gave him a bottle of pills, took it for six weeks, boom, all better. I wasn't so lucky. I'm on my THIRD bottle of pills, no change. It's possible that we got bit on the same family camping trip, or at the same soccer game. They just didn't catch mine in time. Do you feel ok? You could be just fine. But for so many of us here, we used to think it was something simple too. I remember the day the doctor called me and said it was Lyme disease. I was relieved. Oh thank God, it's just Lyme disease, I thought. I take these pills and I'll feel all better. I'm still taking them... and I still don't feel any better... He had Lyme just as you described, he got a rash, took some pills, all better. Gave me some pointers to get through until the medicine was gone.

I hope for you, your doctor was right, and you take the pills and get better. But for us, our doctors were wrong, there's more to this than the medical community can understand. Here's hoping you don't join our ranks...

Timing is everything when it comes to Lyme. The longer you have it, generally the worse it is. I join the others in hoping that you are one of the lucky ones whose disease was caught right away. How did your doctor arrive at your diagnosis?

Wow I had no idea it could be so bad.... Ahh honestly I had a tick and the only reason i went to the docs was cause i could not get it off... well turns out it had lyme and I took medication ... honestly im not even sure i have finished it but i had no idea it could be this serious. I think i may contact my doc and tell him i did not finish the meds so it does not progress... wow i honestly had no idea it was anyhthing like this. I hope all of you guys find a way to manage it. And thank you so much for your information.. you may have just prevented a huge hassle latter on down the line in my life.

I hope it does help you and prevent and further problems with you. Penn. is one of the worst states for lyme. I recently saw a map, and the majority of the cases were in NY, but it seems like PA was 2nd, if not it was 3rd. Good luck to you!
