Lyme Disease Support Group
Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne disease in the Northern Hemisphere. It is now one of the fastest growing infectious diseases in the U.S. Lyme disease is caused by infection with the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria, and is primarily transmitted to humans as well as dogs, horses and other domesticated animals by the bite of infected ticks.
I believe that having been on antibiotics may affect test results.
To rule out or confirm Lyme, it is important to see a knowledgeable doctor.
If you need a doctor recommendation, you can send me a private message or email me at ko_@bellsouth.net
Do you have Lyme disease?
Are you getting proper treatment now?
Were you tested for all the co-infections?
I did two years of ABX and other meds.
Didn't test for coinfections, but was treated seperately for them and I felt it helped a lot.
Still not "normal" and probably never will be. It crossed into my brain and did a lot of damage to my joints and nervous system. But I am SO much better than I was two years ago.
Each day is it's own stuggle, but I can get through them now.
Have you thought about getting another opinion? With proper treatment, you can get better. It can take time, but you can. Long-term treatment is not unusual especially when you have been sick for some time.
You likely were not treated long enough and/or aggressively enough. Have you been tested for the co-infections?
I highly recommend that you be evaluated by a Lyme doctor. Have you contacted any? They are familiar with these symptoms and know how to best treat them.
It is also important to learn as much as you can so you can get the best treatment for your case.
