Hey everybody! I was diagnosed with lyme disease about 3 months ago. We thought my leg was broken (didnt know how i did it) & went to urgent care. The doctor diagnosed me with lyme disease but also said that we cant rely on the results alone because they can be misleading. I also had other symptoms that the doctor didnt even know about until after he diagnosed me such as feeling sick, extremely tired for no good reason & i was very sore, along with my leg swelling up to where i couldnt even stand on it. Now heres the catch, im also epileptic & the doctor told me he couldnt even give me a prediction on how these 2 would play out together. He gave me 2 weeks of doxycycline & told me to see my family doctor. I go to my first apt with an infectious diseaae doctor this tuesday. Yesterday i went to my family doctor who basicly told me its nothing to worry about as long as my leg didnt swell up again.... Which of course, is insane! Im a mother of 2 small children & a wife, im dealing with all of these new symptoms & learning how to handle it & still be there for my family. I really just want to know whats next? Ive had ppl say to call my insurnace company & see how long they cover for meds. Should i do that?
I ask because those symptoms are fairly vague, and I'm just wondering why the doctor thinks it's Lyme, unless there are clear reasons to think it is (positive test, exposure to ticks, etc.).

anyone who is just learning about chronic Lyme. I hope it will be of some help to you. As to calling your insurance company I"m not certain which meds you're asking about. But if you have questions, it never hurts to give a call. As to Lyme, my experience is that it should be treated by a Lyme Literate doctor. Many times they're not covered by insurance but they usually know how to diagnose and treat it. I wish you well with all that you're dealing with. Keep asking questions and reaching out, especially if you do have chronic Lyme. We really need to educate ourselves and be out own advocates when it comes to being treated.

Also avoid dairy within 4 hours of the dose. If you are married then know recent studies say it is sexually transmitted. Lyme is a cousin of Syphilis. Good luck
