Welcome! You probably had the ELISA, which is rather notoriously inaccurate. The good news is that your physician is pursuing your inconclusive results. The Western Blot is more accurate, so wait and see what that says. It's important, I think, to know that it's not the most accurate test and that with suspicion of Lyme if results on the Western Blot are negative or inconclusive (as mine were, though my physician told me that mine was negative, and only in asking to see it did I see that mine, like your earlier test, was inconclusive and I required further testing) there are more accurate and conclusive tests. IGENEX does one. You must go through a physician to get this, if it turns out that you need it, but perhaps mire importantly, diagnosis of Lyme is most conclusively based on "diagnostic impression". It's best to sit down with a Lyme literate physician and allow him or her to ask pertininet questions about your symptoms. LLMD is the shortcut for a Lyme literate physician. You can find one through recommendation here, by members, or through the Lyme society called ILDAS. Look for their website. www.ilads.org. There is another site for recommendations, but I'm having a Lyme moment, and can't recall it. Other members will be able to. And again, welcome!

One problem with western blot and why there are a fair amount of false negatives and inconclusive results is some places won't test site 31 because if you are one of the people that got the Lyme Disease vaccine which didn't work then it will come back a false positive but otherwise it is an accurate positive which is how I was able to get my positive Lyme diagnosis. But as LaurieG said make sure you take a look at the results yourself.

Thank you guys! I may end up seeing an LLMD if this comes back negative to see what they say. I have had MANY different issues and I believe they would all be explained by Lyme disease, but I won't know until I talk to a specialist. If it comes out negative my doctor planned on sending me to the Mayo Clinic to try and figure out what is going on with me so I will wait until my results come in.
