Lyme Disease Support Group
Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne disease in the Northern Hemisphere. It is now one of the fastest growing infectious diseases in the U.S. Lyme disease is caused by infection with the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria, and is primarily transmitted to humans as well as dogs, horses and other domesticated animals by the bite of infected ticks.
Hi name is Dr. Aucott. He seems likeable with a ready, easy smile, acknowledging that there are so many things unknown about Lyme and says it's time to get down to the business of both finding answers and resolving the rift in the medical community. He's a Hopkins doctor and is helping to conduct a study about Lyme, though he didn't say that last night. The bit also featured a late stage Lyme patient and showed how much she's improved from being on I.V. abx. But she also told some of her story of doctors that were afraid to treat her and of being told that she was too ill for treatment.
I hope this crops up on youtube. I have no idea how to upload on there, or I would. I have it on VHS tape.
He made his mark in the Lyme community in Baltimore, MD when he realized that there was alot of Juvenile Arthritis then made the connection that kids were getting Lyme do to mice and other little creatures in the city seeing they were not close to deer.
Seems like to me he hasn't changed mush but sees ALOT of MONEY to be made (not like the 300.00 a visit) he charges anyway ). His office sent me a letter telling me of the "change" he was making in his practice and would still see his Lyme patients for 400.00 a visit!!!! I haven't seen this man in over 10 years!!
I was really diappointed with this interveiw as with most. Maybe one day we will be able to finally have Lyme on the forefront!!
Thanks
