How long for results??

Hi everyone - I am 10days into the waiting game and feel like I'm going to go mad right now!

I have spent years trying to get a diagnosis...I finally got a clinical diagnosis for myasthenia but found it's pretty useless without test to back it up!!

Now that all my symptoms also seem to point to Lyme....I was hoping for a definitive yes or no test to rule it out....or rule it in. But it looks like this is another complex illness!!

Does anyone know how long the Western Blot results take? Also is there a difference between the western blot and immunoblot test??

Have you had the Western Blot test done? I can't
remember how long it took. My doctor appointments were
about 4 months apart. Also, I don't know if there's a difference
between the 2 tests you mentioned. You can always ask your
doctor when you get the results and you can probably call
the nurse at the doctor's office and ask how long the test
results take to come in? Sometimes with certain lab work
you can request a copy be sent to you.

Hi Unsure. I don't know what an immunoblot test is, but I had a western blot from LabCorp, and it took about a week to get the results back. I recently had the lyme and coinfection testing with Igenex, and that took six weeks. So it depends on the lab. I would definitely call your doc's office and ask. It will give you one less thing to stress about it, and we need to relieve as much stress as possible. :)
