It is now one of the fastest growing infectious diseases in the U.S. Lyme disease is caused by infection with the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria, and is primarily transmitted to humans as well as dogs, horses and other domesticated animals by the bite of infected ticks.

I have been battling this for quite sometime and finally decided to get a couple of books that I have been told are great. I would like to share them with you. I think if you are suffering or know someone who is going through Lyme treatment this would be great to add to your library.
I ordered both of mine from the web at www.amazon.com. They are written by the same author who herself battled the disease. Her name is : Connie Strasheim.
1st book : Insights into Lyme Disease Treatments- this has the treatment of the top 10 LLMD and their protocols.
2nd book: The Lyme Disease Survival Guide- this is about her journey the things she used and how they helped her.She also talks about faith helping you heal, and how you also need emotional healing to get well.
I myself always wonder are we doing all we can to get better? This has helped me to see that yes my Doctor seems to be right on track with what he is doing and also gives me insight to things I may do on the side that can aid in my healing better. It also helps me to ask better questions when I do see my doctor.
For example I am prescribed Artemisin to take everyday. I just thought this was just another herb or microbial that he prescribed I didn't know that if you get to much of it it can affect your liver. I now know to ask my doctor that when I go back in Nov,

They are not real expensive but I know with the economy and with just the monetary strain from having Lymes can be tough. I also like that Amamzon you can order previously used books for less. The first book Insights into LD treatments was $39.95 and the other one The LD Survival guide which I think would be great for ever Lymie to have was $23.35. This was the price though for new ones as I said they do offer gently used books at lower prices.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
I don't have any Lyme books, but have done a lot of researchh and don't want anything too basic. With this in mind, which (or both) do you recommend.
Also, RE: artimisinun- I took it to ease into the bug killing, the antibiotics were too much on my body at first- but my LLMD did mention that he recommended to take it for about 6 weeks, as he felt that was the span of effectiveness (didn't mention liver) I was going to just finish the bottle because I have it (just started back on mepron), but now I won't. Thanks for the tip!
I was looking around some more for information on Artemisinin, and found this one website that talked about how horrendous the herxes are from it! I was wondering if you woudl look at this and tell me if you have had any herxes like this on this product? THanks!

I had taken Mepron a couple of years ago and i felt like the walking dead except I did anything but walk. That was the worst drug I ever hexed off of. I mean it really put a hurting on me I couldn't eat or sleep. I feel for you Little Butterfly I know what it is like to have to be on that. It does kill the little suckers though. Thanks for the names of some more books. I think the best thing we can do is to keep learning things o help us along :)
I have a list of things to ask my LLMD about, I hope he is familiar with these things!
Maybe we should start a thread on babesia symptoms and treatments?
My dr. does 2 antibiotics at a time too, and when I downloaded the treatment protocols you can find on ILADS website, that's what they recommend, so I guess that's why our drs do it. I guess it hits the disease in different parts of the body, tissues, blood, mucous membranes, etc.
What concerns me for myself is I asked my LLMD about treating for co infections and his approach is treat the Lymes, and then see what symptoms are still there, and from those, treat the co infections. It seems like that is contrary to all I read. So will have to ask him about it next week (again!)
I would like to know the symptoms for sure. My feet hurt SO much. The soles hurt, they throb, at times walking is painful. Is that a symptom? Or is that Lyme? Anyone else have that?
Just wanted to chime in that my dr's approach was the same as yours; for me, it's been working.
There are some LLMDs that use it but pulse it. I currently am taking it everyday and I have noticed that my symptoms...fever, chills, nightsweats have subsided. It is being used to treat my babesia which is more dominate than the Lyme this time around.
Dr. Z has also written a book too. I can back to you on that if you'd like. I had great success w/his protocal in conjunction w/ABX treatment. I went six years with no symptoms, just very minor flare ups when I overdid it or became ill...i.e. cold, ear infection etc.
