Lyme Disease Support Group
Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne disease in the Northern Hemisphere. It is now one of the fastest growing infectious diseases in the U.S. Lyme disease is caused by infection with the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria, and is primarily transmitted to humans as well as dogs, horses and other domesticated animals by the bite of infected ticks.

I am wondering if Lyme causes bloating from all of the bacteria? One of my doctors thought it could be candida as I also have sinus congestion. I have been put on Nystatin for a month and also Diflucan for a month which didn't make a difference at all. When I wake up, my stomach is almost flat and then as soon as I drink a glass of water, I start getting bloated and it gets worse when I eat. I did a food allergy test and have been avoiding certain foods and I'm also on a gluten, dairy and sugar free diet. I also went to my gastroenterologist and did a colonoscopy due to abdominal pain and my history of Chron's. It came back fine and he said I have IBS. Does anyone else have this problem?

Oh yeah!!! Lyme can cause so many different things in so many of our organs it is quite scary. It sounds like your doing everything that you need to though. The diet is good, but it is sooooo hard to stick to. I wish you luck. It might take some time for the yeast drugs to kick in if your body was loaded with it. Sounds like you are on the right track., I also have IBS from the Lyme. It flares less since I have been on treatemnt again but still there none the less. Keep doing what you are doing and you should see progress:)

Also remember to take HIGH doses of a really good quality probiotic to replace all the intestinal flora being killed off. Very important... I take a minimum of 50 billion per day and it really helps.

Thanks guys. I forgot to mention that I haven't started the treatment yet as I just found out I tested positive. My apt. with the infectious disease doctor who specializes in Lyme is June 24th. I work with a naturopath as well and will start treatment with him June 15th. I have been on a really good probiotic for about a year now. It would be nice not to be bloated once I start the treatment and can wear my clothes again. And also not to have all these other horrible symptoms. I've been sick for 2 1/2 years and I really want my life back!!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
