Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne disease in the Northern Hemisphere. It is now one of the fastest growing infectious diseases in the U.S. Lyme disease is caused by infection with the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria, and is primarily transmitted to humans as well as dogs, horses and other domesticated animals by the bite of infected ticks.
My son Michael was having headaches and dizzy spells after his meds were done. This was in August beginning of Sept. I brought him to the doctor and they didn't want to do anything about it because they cannot prove that it is from the Lyme without sending him to a neurologist and doing a spinal tap. I don't want him to go through a spinal tap either. They told me to keep treating him with Tylenol and see what happens, and if they continue or get worse, then they have no choice.
Since then, he hasn't had any headaches or dizzy spells. I think this is a good thing. But I am wary about it. Hoping it doesn't return. What do you guys think??

A spinal tap is very unrelaiable for lyme. it is most often used to rule out other things.
Is he having any other smptoms beside headache and dizzy? Did he have any other co-infections that can come along with lyme.
How long did he have the headaches after treatment and how long has he been symptom free?
There is no way of knowing if he is lyme free. No test is reliable enough. That being said, I'd watch him closely. keep in mind that his lyme could return (or flare up) at any time in his lifetime. If he has a return of any symptoms, bring up the posability of lyme to the doctor at that time. Many believe it is cured. Many believe any symptoms are post lyme syndrome or something.
I thnk it can be cured if caught early and treated aggressively. I think it can be controlled in those who have had it for a long time but it can flare up again and again so we must be vigilant to keep ourselves as healthy as posable and be prepeared to seek addididional treatment in the future.
