Vacations

Me and hubby are taking a vacation next month and it will take quiet a bit of walking, we are thinking of buying a wheelchair or a scooter. I can only walk about 5 mins. before I am wore out. Any suggestions, on what would be good to get and easy to transport?? Thanks all

Have you spoken with your rheumy about your upcoming vacation? He/she may have suggestions as to the different means of transport that you could use when you get tired walking.

Sometimes some of these alternative modes of transport can get pretty pricy so you may want to consider whether whatever it is that you will be investing in will either be only for the vaction or whether you'll use at other times as well.

You didn't mention where you are going, but I know that some resorts in CA have golf carts for the use of their guests. It really depends on the TYPE of vacation---sightseeing? relaxing? as to the mode of transportation. And also the terrain.

Actually we are going to Vegas, we are going to see Donny and Marie for our Anniverary, we will be married 48 years, I have a wonderful husband who is so dang good to me. But anyway we will be doing alot of walking and we have talked to my dr. and he is looking into what kind of chair to get me, he totally agrees that I need something to get around. I can walk for 10 to 15 mins. and it like I hit a wall and cannot go anymore. I'm sure alot of you can relate to that.Thanks for the replys, this site is great

I would think that you would have no problem in Vegas obtaining a scooter or chair for your needs. If you are using a travel agent place a call to them, if not I would call where I was staying. If they couldn't accomodate you, I'm sure they could point you in the right direction. Good luck and have loads of fun!!!
