I been getting a lot of urinary tract infections . I mean with in a little bit of time. Ive had 3 with in 2 months. Does any one else have this ?
I saw the rheumy Dr yesterday and she wants me to see a urologist,
Just wondering if this is part of Lupus.

I haven't been offically diagnosed with lupus (yet!) but I too suffer from frequent urinary infections (and even severe kidney infections earlier this year). Whenever I test my urine it is nearly always positive for protein and leukocytes (infection).
In my search for answers, I found that UTIs are common in lupus, especially if you have kidney involvement- so may be worth the appointment with the urologist to check you kidney function. Also I think becuase of low immunity people are more suseptable to all kinds of infection.
The way I've found to control it, is drinking at least 2 litres of water a day, plus 250ml of cranberry juice (or cranberry capsules food supplement), and my doc has also put me on a low dose profalactic antibiotic which seems to help as whenever I forget to take it for a few days the UTIs come back!
I have had UTI's, seems like forever! Part of Lupus and some Lupus meds. I have not had a bath in a few years(I shower) and have to use unscented soaps etc. I drink alot of Cranberry juice. My Rheumy will send me to a Uroligist if it gets real bad and or happens too often. Knock on wood, its been at bay so far.
