for the past week i have been getting swelling on the left side of my neck.
as well as this pain in my groin and side(so bad i can't touch it)all on the same side.
doctor gave me antobiotics no't helping.
Can anyone help please ,

McQuade,
You have something going on in your lymph system. Maybe the antibiotics are not the right ones for the type of infection or it's not and infection caused by bacteria. It could be so many things but only a dr can do the testing needed to pin down the cause.
Good luck,,,,, I've had that in the past.... from lupus related hepatitis. Ouch!!

I was diagnosed with Lupus in 2002 and recently experienced swelling on the right side of my neck behind and just below the ear. It developed quite rapidly and I ended up in the ER the following morning. The swelling and pain was very pronounced. The CT scan showed no tumor (even though I could feel a hard lump under the ear). I followed up with my Rheumatologist who ordered a blood test for Sjogren's Syndrome. This often effects those with immune system disorders, like Lupus. It involves the mucous membranes and moisture-secreting glands of your eyes and mouth, resulting in decreased production of tears and saliva. I'm awaiting my own test results. Just something to think about and have checked out by your doctor. Good luck.

I have had this problem several times - it is your lymph system. I went to the ER the first time because I had terrible groin pain and swelling and was concerned about a blood clot as my father lost his leg to one. But it was just a swollen lymph node. I've had this problem a number of times since then. A friend suggested using a trampoline, you know, one of those small indoor ones for aerobics? Apparently that is great for your lymphatic system but I haven't tried it yet. Frankly, I've gained so much weight since starting the prednisone that I haven't found one within my weight limit. But I've since read several articles that say it really does help the lymphatic system. I hope you feel better soon, I know how painful it can be.
