Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.

I have been on this board for a little while, still having more tests to see if I have Lupus or not.
There are some very nice people on this board whi I have learnt a lot from.
There is also a huge amount of negativity & back biting which continue even when people say enough.
I find this frustrates, annoys & upsets me so it is not worth my while staying on the board as I cant tell from the headers which are good/bad posts.
Thanks for the friendship some of you offered & good luck in the future.
Hugs,

I hate to see you go. I totally understand how you feel. I love this website. It has been so uplifting for me on difficult days. Some days are even so bad that I don't feel like typing a post but I'm able to read nice things and that helps alot. But, when it turns so negative with name calling etc... it just sends bad feelings through me. I do hope you find a nice place to visit on the internet. I'm hoping that Daily Strength will turn around and become the warm and caring site it was intended to be so I'm sticking around. There are too many nice people here for me to walk away. I'm giving it a while longer. We will miss you. Please stop by from time to time and see if things are better. Best wishes on your diagnosis. I hope you are able to escape the "lupus" diagnosis and find what is causing your problems to be something easy to cure. Peace be with you!

I wish you would reconsider, there are so many of us that want you to stay. You have to ignore those who act like they are children. Maybe they are just screaming for help and just never been taught to do it the right way. If you need a friend who will never treat you that way contact me, I would be happy to talk to you anytime. I understand what you are saying, but I wish you would reconsider. There are many people in this group and quite a bit of us are upset at what is going on. I say we drown out the negative posts with other posts. We can and will take this group back. As for the negative posts, I don't like them either; but the best thing we can do is not reply. I hope you stay. I have been a member here for over a year and have learned a lot of good information and made some wonderful friends who understand what I'm going thru, not an easy task.

I actually am a really new member, having just one other day that I sat and wrote replies to people's posts. I am really sad to hear that other people are causing a negative experience in a 'support group' environment. I hope that isn't the case and that perhaps we can elect some group moderators or leaders to address the behaviors that are not desirable? And perhaps, also, recognize that when people are ill they can be really cranky, unthoughtful, and stressed out with their own problems. People can take it out on other people, unfortunately. Like I said, I'm new here, and I hope this can be fixed because I like this website and group.
