Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.
My theory is that it is due to congestion in the maxillary sinuses. My dentist saw in an X-ray that the sinus had filled the area adjoining the roots of several teeth, and we concluded that this was pressing on the nerves leading to the teeth. I also noticed that my teeth hurt after I use solvents for cleaning auto parts. This could have irritated my sinuses and caused swelling.
Sometimes this symptom can be caused by new dental fillings that create a "high spot" and put undue pressure on an individual tooth when biting hard. I've gotten relief at times after having the dentist grind the new filling down a bit.
I've always had a sensitive mouth, orthodontic work caused me a lot of pain when I was young.
