Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.

So this summer has been terrible for my skin. I wear SPF of 30 and keep my skin covered while I drive. But my left arm, which is exposed to the sun the most, while I drive has had constant rashes and open lesions. I have been on and off steriods all summer. (As if the heat isn't bad enough now I am a vitrual furnace from the steriods... ok that was off the subject slightly) Anyway, My arm is now covered in scars from the healed lesions. Does anyone have any advice for a good cream or oil that will help reduce the scars, or even help prevent the sores in the first place?

Try the replenix zinc oxide skin protector. I use it on my face but I think they do a body version too. Hope this help..(you can order it from your derm or I think you can buy it online)

I had the same experience last summer and I'm almost positive that it was from sun coming through the window and hitting my left arm when I was driving. My Rheumatologist "upped my steroids". I reeally scarred last summer and the texture of my skin felt weird. Now, however, many of the scars are gone. I'll be honesst with you. It totally freaked me out. xoxo stay in touch, summer I couldn't agree more about using zinc oxcide.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
