Hi everyone. I have a question. Once you get DX'd with Lupus with positive blood tests and know you have it, do you get repeat tests every so often? If so, how often do you get them? Do the tests usually come back better for you, if you are taking medication, or does that kind of stuff not really change?
I'm kind of wondering because I've been taking Plaquenil and Lyrica for a few months now, saw my doctor on Monday and it was, just keep taking the meds from her (with a slight increase on the Lyrica). I guess it's just a matter of taking meds and hoping to feel better.

Usually when you start plaquenil your rheumy will test you at every visit to see if your numbers are going down. Unless you are on severe meds that can affect your liver which then you are given blood tests every 6 weeks. Every dr. is different though. If they dont do them the next time you go in, ask for them to be done. Its important to know that your numbers are going down especially if your not feeling alot better because this can mean the meds arent working well enough. Because you have only been on plaquenil for a few months, maybe this is why they didnt do blood. It usually takes at least 3-6 months to kick in and start to make a big difference in your body.
