Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.
You could be suffering from inflamation of the chest wall which feels like it is in your lungs alot of the time. It can also affect your throat as it goes from the bottom of your breastbone to the top of your esophagus. Its called Chondroititis and I have had it several times. It can last weeks to months. Goes along with a flare up sometimes. I thought I had lung cancer when I first experienced it as it felt like it was in my lungs. There is really nothng you can do for it except wait it out. You may start to feel better in a couple of days. If it doesnt go away, put a call into your rheumy as you may need a burst of steroids if you arent on it already. That can help with the inflamation. If you are really freaked out, go to the ER or Urgent care and have a chest x-ray. Keep us posted and hope you feel better. I know we think we can do much more when its not hot out or sunny but we always seem to pay after we think like that. I've done the same thing.
