lozzy - don't feel bad I have the same thing, only thing is that its an ongoing process. Had to go to a neurologist and get extensive testing done. Found out that I have Left Brain issues that apparently are in relation to the Lupus. I think they call it CNS Lupus or neuropsychiatric lupus, I have both or symptoms of both but the Dr. says I have CNS Lupus. It took about 3 years before even getting diagnosed, just because one Dr. said it was one thing and another said it was something else. Just hang in there. And, I write lists too., but I still get lost sometimes and then end up having a panic attack. But, it will be best once the Dr. knows for sure what it is. I've been taking Aricept for it, which is also a Alheimers Med, but it works for me. I've been on it for the past 6 years. I do notice that if I run out which has only happened once that my brain starts to fog up.

I have lupus cerebritis/CNS lupus/neuropsychiatric lupus...whatever you call it...it's lupus that affects the central nervous system. I've been diagnosed with lupus SLE since 1990 and in 2004 it developed into lupus cerebritis. I currently take Cellcept to try to control the my immune system so as to minimize risk of inflammation in my brain.

It sounds as if your doctor is on top of things with ordering the brain scan and keeping you closely monitored. Keep in close communication with your doctor as far as your symptoms are concerned and be sure to keep up with your meds.

thanks for info on this it breaks my heart to read your stories,as i know lupus is crap i am on about 22 drugs a day with things going on with me it scares me to think oh not another pill,it seems like ive no life but pill poping or sleeping,maybe im depresed i dont know im no medic...i really do feel for u all with lupus.i see my rhummy in 2 weeks time..my mom had altzimers..and i looked after her,i hope to god its not that ive got i will let u know out come of all this crap..my herart is with u all

its nice to know im not alone with this docs have stopped the gabapentin,because of the brain probs im having,and now want me on lidocaine for my pain..soon as i get brain results let u all know out come thanks for your replys and may u all have pain free days

auxfire,,, can lupus be seen in the brain? what exactly did they see on your left side? it is good for me to know since my immune system affected my brain and left me with residuos and small lesions and dymelianation. How can they tell its lupus?

I use to joke and say to people "I have sometimers" Sometimes I remember and sometimes I forget. I have heard this referred to as brain fog. I read somewhere that persons with lupus and other auto immune disease can develop lessions on the brain and this cause forgetfulness. I am glad your doctor is listening to you and doing extensive testing...many doctors dismiss it and call it STRESS!
