I was wondering how many of you have been diagnosed with this condition as well as Lupus.

Do any of you have symptoms or issues with it?

Hi silly,
Yes, I have this and its just ugly, to be honest but doesnt cause me any issues. I think it is common to have with lupus.

Oh yes! As Melissa stated it has not caused any issues, but is not very pretty. Essentially is a rash that looks like rash under the skin. Mine seems to get worse in the winter, don't know if cold has anything to do with it. My rheumy also confirmed it is quite common is lupus.

Yep, have it too. I did have horrible ulcers on my toes from it for almost a full year, but the prednisione took them away. I haven't had many episodes of the lacey skin either. I go completely off prednisone next week, hope I don't develop any more ulcers. It is very common with lupus.

Im so happy to hear of your good news of the steroids. Yipeee! How bad was the taper for you? I pray that your ulcers dont come back and you'll do good OFF the steroids. Im so scared of tapering down on the steroids again. So happy for you.

Melissa, the taper has been wonderful for me; but my neuro tells me that I'm just one of those people that doesn't feel well on them. I feel weaker, but my tests show that I'm stronger. My reduction went really fast. 60 -50-40-20-10-5mg every other day and next week none. Of course mine was for the MG, so that may make a huge difference in how I was able to reduce so quickly. I'm not sure, but I'm just thankful. Thankful for the help and now thankful to be rid of them.

can you get this on your arms?

Hi Mar, Yes you can get them on your arms. I had skin issues before I was even diagnosed with Lupus. People looked at my arms and asked if I was cold. Patchy blue and rashy red still are on my arms and top part of my chest. Was told Plaquinil would help, it does not. I have no plans to sit in the dermatologist office for an hour to hear him say the same thing again. My arms and chest can get beat red in mins of being in the sun, not to mention the bruises and thinning of the skin I have! lol I am running on!
