To help dry eyes my opthomologist told me to fill an athletic sock with rice, stick in the microwave till warm and put on your eyes to get the blood flowing good. Then gently rub on the bottom part of your eyes in a circular motion to try and unclog the tear ducts. Also, put drops in and keep them hydrated.

Active On Anti Itch roll on is good. Also Aveeno anti itch cream (in pharmacy are not in skincare). Triamincinolone cream/ointment is the best. You will need a prescription for it.
Cerave Cream is also good.
Prescription Atarax and otc Zyrtec help.

Check in with your rheumy. There are lots of unimportant things that cause itching like plain old allergies or dry skin from winter heat. And lots of SLE patients have Sjogren's overlapping which cause dry everything.

BUT OCCASIONALLY, itching can be a sign of kidney problems. Or the beginning of an allergic reaction. So please check in with your rheumy just to make sure that your itching isn't a sign of something else....

And if it's just plain itching, then an anti-histamine can help. (Itching is caused when histamines surface.) Claritin is good; Benedryl (diphenhydramine is the old standby, but it's very sedating). And of course lotions to keep the areas moist and eye drops.

If I take the brand name Plaquenil I itch terribly. But, the generic doesn't bother me at all. Probably something in the binders. Could be something simple like this too.
