Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.
What is it with this disease, or meds associated with it, that I fall all the time. Really hating it!
Last time I had a bad spill I stepped off a curb, landed on my side and cracked two ribs.
Usually it's down stairs. I get to the point I must look bizarre as I slowly plod along very conscience of each step I take until I relax and fall again, taking the elevators for even 1 floor.
My 90 year old grandma could beat me in a foot race.....Errrrr, seriously. My husband teases me that I should not be assisting her to walk, we'll both end up in the ER :(
This last time, Friday night, was down the stairs, only 4 of them. It's Monday and I'm still in too much discomfort, going to the Rheumy. I know I blew a few vessels but feel I may have broken or chipped something in my neck, shoulder and elbows. (I now seem to tuck and roll, after the ribs)
Anyway, just bitching. So frustrated!

Yet I have no memory of falling. I woke up with a bunch of stuff on top of me and blood all over the walls where I must have run into them. I think it's possible we fall because of seizures. When you have a seizure you typically have no memory of it.
