Hi DS!! I hope all is well with you all today!! I just have a quick question...are heart flutters common in lupies? Recently, I've been having a few of them within a week. Should I be overly concerned? I'm definitely going to ask my rheumy about it but I just wanna get your thoughts on this. I hope everyone has a blessed day!

I don't know if they're a lupus thing but I've had them for years. They're usually called PVC's (premature ventricular contractions) I've been checked out and the cardiologist says it's nothing for me to worry about. I'm on a beta blocker which has controlled the PVC's pretty well except for when it's close to my period-- I get those flutters for a week before it starts.
Always a good idea to talk to your doc when weird things pop up but for the most part, I've been told they're benign.
When you get them, try coughing hard-- it usually evens me out when I get a run of them.

Also go to your general prac and get your thyroid tested. Graves disease which is another AI can cause heart beat issues.
