Yes, it's kind of that "pre-flu" feeling with me, sore body, feverish, sleepy, sore throat and mouth, go off my food....oh and musn't forget the glowing malar rash....Lovely Lupus isn't it! You are not alone.

I don't really get the all the flu-like symptoms when I start flaring, but I get EXTREMELY fatigued. I feel like a walking zombie when this happens!

For me that was one of my initial symptoms. I would get 4 and 5 day periods of time where I felt like I was going to come down with the flu, body aches, slight fever, ect. Then, I would never get the flu. Now, I never really have periods where I am totally out of a flare, but when they worsen it is precipitated by the flu like symptoms. I call it the flu that doesn't go away. Since most people identify with the flu, when they seem to not understand why I can't do this or that, I say "do you remember how you felt the last time when you were getting the flu? Well, I feel like that". It helps them understand a little.

Yeah, but I just thought it was my Fibro...as I've had that "flu-like aching" since 1990.

I absolutely get the flu like symptoms...I dont get tired, I just feel sick with the flu. I usually run a temperature as well. But, this is not the actual flu...I also get this way before my period sometimes. Now, the plaquenil is not working for me any longer...I get mini-flu like episodes now whenever I exert my body (like dressing my toddler, rushing around, etc,).

Im so sorry that you have this symptoms too. It is probably one of the worst ones out of them all. IF it doesnt go away within a few days, you may want to ask your rheumy if you could take a low dose of pred for a week or so. It usually takes my flare up away instantly.

Yes, I feel like I've been run over by a truck actually! Every part of my body hurts and I feel as though I am getting the flu I guess is the best way to put it. I am always fatigued, but when I go into a flare my body is so overly exhausted it takes every ounce of energy I have to get out of bed, I run a fever on and off, I go from having the chills one minute to breaking out in a sweat the next. If I get up to do anything at all I break out in a sweat and start shaking.

Thank you all, I knew it had to be the lupus, but its so good when you find out that its not just you, lol not that I wish it on any of you. One thing I do wish is that people would stop coming around us sick, even if its just with a cold, I have had the flu for a week and a head and chest cold and diarrhea (sp). I know who came around me and we have asked so many time not too, its been an awful week, I hope it soon gets better lol, hage all
