Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.
I watched this video (which is free to view on Hulu or Netflix) and the creator, Joe Cross, has a rare form of Lupus. He was overweight, sick, and dealing with skin blotches from his disease.
He fasted for 60 days on only a juice diet using a juicer. He lost mass weight as did another guy, Phil Staples, who lost over 200-lbs.
Both guys became healthier and Joe actually got off his long-term Prednisone treatment.
I began my fast 5-days ago. I have lost 7-lbs. I went off Prednisone 14 days ago and was put on Plaquenil. The pain has returned to my ankles/feet (the elbow agony never left and recently I lost the use of my pinky/ring finger due to pinched ulnar nerve).
I am going to continue my juicing fast through to 30-days and, if possible, 60 days.
