Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.
I have Sjogren's. My eyes have been especially bad this year. Now worse than ever, partly I think because of the inversion. I recently changed opthamologists, Thank God. The new guy is great, he put plugs in the bottom ducts and now I want him to put them in the top. The other guy didn't even mention it though I had complained on 2 diff visits. Also, I got a humidifier for my bedroom. It really has helped!
I also ALWAYS have a glass/mug of tea/water with me throughout the day, and even have to have one on my nightstand during the night...as I ALWAYS wake up and need a drink of water. Even when I worked, I had to have my mug close to me at all times. My mouth gets so dry that my throat actually sticks together! Frightening feeling if you've never experienced it! I've had plenty of nightmares where I was choking to death...only to wake up and find that I actually am!!...and I'm grabbing that glass of water in a hurry!! I was finally tested by my 2nd Neuro for Sjogren's. He said that I did NOT have it. So I say....has to be the Lupus!

I also drink plently of filtered water even throughout the night.
I also make sure I have some of the good oils in my daily diet.
I was taking flaxseed oil, but I had a wakeup call.
It seems flaxseed oil is contraindicated with a number of medications/ conditions .
I would advise anyone who takes any medication to always look for contraindications if you try anything new .
Natural products can also be a problem.
I have only just seen in another forum that probiotics could be a problem with my particular medications
Wow there is always so much to remember
cheers all
