So I guess I have gone through all the normal meds.due to allergic reactions so now my dr. is moving me up to Biologics and is putting me on Enbrel which in reading about it it is not normally used for Lupus so alittle confused,I do have R.A. so I guess thats his thinking,has anyone used this drug ? what can you tell me ?Cindy
It has this long scary list of side effects, I didnt get any of those and I have heard that most of them are unusual. It didnt really do that much for my symptoms, though...It costs a fortune, so it was a lot of paperwork from my insurance company. I eventually felt bad taken it because of the high costs when it didnt do anything...
It is an immunsupressor, avoid people with flu or a cold, you get so sick if you get something. I think that is what he was thinking, even if it isnt given to people with Lupus maybe he thinks that it can still help an overactive immunsystem.
