Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.
We wake each day and before we move
We ask Do I or am I going to, feel pain?
We slowly move as we reach for our meds
We know from the pills we gain.
We gain the right to get up and move about with less than what we had
We go through the day trying not to think if we feel good or bad.
We dont want to think of pains here and there or what happens if I do
We find ourselves doing this though so the Lupus doesnt sneak up BOO!
The sun, the sun, I use to have fun in the sun yet now I feel I must hide
With the lights dimmed down, I now spend my days with my pc inside
I think to myself will I ever stand with the sun beating on my face again
Or will I always find myself stuck in the dark without a friend
I say NO! I shall not hide in the dark or cover my hideous rash. I shall go into the world doing as I have always done.
I shall have a life full of all the wonders that Ive cherished throughout and I shall NOT give up one!
I say today is the day that LIFE has bought a new lease. For from this day forth I shall take control of my life and not let a disease.
I SAY TO ALL. Dont let life pass you by or put you in a shell, theres so much to do so lets go raise some hell!
