Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.
I'm not diagnosed as having lupus yet but my specialists are saying that it probably is lupus or a lupus-like condition. They want to do a bone marrow biopsy to find see what that tells them. Has anyone else had this? Is there anything I should know about it?

Its not as bad as it sounds .It hurts a bit but mostly its the pressure you feel.When I had it I had a bumpy six hour drive in a crowded van so had some discomfort from that.When they did that test on me it was to check for lukemia because bloodwork out of whack.The diagnosis turned out to be lupus.Don't fret about the test it not as I said as bad as it sounds. Thanks dallas for replying. I'm trying not to be too freaked out about this. My bloodwork is definitely out of whack and has been for some time. If I remember correctly they are doing this to make sure it isn't something other then lupus or a lupus-like condition but they didn't explain further. I'm trying to be brave but I'm so not. I'll be happy when it's over with.

Yes and thats all right I was anxious too.But it really wasn't as bad i as i thought it be.You will be alright. love marilyn

I had a bone -marrow biopsy they can tell alot from them types of procedures. it is worth the discomfort, however i wouldnt say it hurt like dallas2 says it is mostly the pressure that you feel.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
