I was just diagnosed with SLE in Jan this year. I went a couple weeks without being in a flare and then when back into a flare. My question is what is everyone's experience with your temperature? I'm without a temperature when I wake up in the morning but as soon as I get to work, my temperature goes up and generally stays up until I get back home. I do drink a lot of water generally 2-3 liters just in the course if work hours. Any input is appreciated.

I have the same symptoms. Usually like clockwork at around 2-3 PM I can feel the fever coming on and sure enough I am febrile usually at least 99.5... Enough to make you feel it for sure. I have had that for about 2 years now. Just diagnosed in Jan. So I was baffled each day when I could set an alarm to the time my body temp would rise. Mine also drops low at times to usually later at night I start freezing no matter what my surrounding temp is. Fun huh...

had no clue that it might be Lupus related. My body temp is always on the low side. I can always tell when it is at an all-time low when I start feeling cold. Food for thought. Rains coming feeling the chill. Feel better soon.

Lorid~You hit the nail right on the head. That's me exactly. Although, it does suck cause when the summer's here in Tx get hot I'm wondering if I'm going to walk around freezing in the evening. I stay under a heating blanket when I am home. Such comfort and warmth for sure!!
I did find it strange that quite a few nurses have SLE. (I'm one as well) Are you still able to work full-time? Thanks for the response also!!

AllByMySelf~I'm waiting for the day that I do feel better. I was very happy when I felt well for a couple weeks then BAM here I am again feeling almost just as bad when I first decided I'd better get to my PCP. This cold weather makes me want to stay in but I am determined to keep moving (can be a bad thing though) Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Thanks for responding!!

I have the same symptoms but I can usually track them back to my activity level. Depending on what I do, and how much I do, I will run a fever. It usually is accompanied by night sweats and night sweat symptoms during the day. If I stop the activity and do less, my temperature will drop and I eventually will get cold. It is very bizarre.

I've noticed that when i have inflamation,i start running a low-grade fever..And then the allover body pains start.does anyone know if inflamation causes a fever?

That's what my rheumatologist has told me that when you have inflammation you will have a temp. Sucks...abunch

Hi! I haven't been diagnosed and my dr seems to have thrown in the towel which sucks. Along with other symptoms like widespread pain, fatigue, weakness & tremors, I'm getting fevers everyday along with the facial rash. If I really exert myself one day it's much worse the next day. For example, I played out in the snow for a couple hours this winter & the next day I had the rash, a fever & was so weak I had to hold I onto furniture to get around, I could barely pass dishes at dinner or get my fork to my mouth. It was really bad. The only blood test that came back positive was the ANA... Hello doctor!! Autoimmune!! I work in the medical field & know what that means but the test was over a year ago. He doesn't want to retest or try steroids because they didn't do anything in 2011 when I was diagnosed with Lyme. That was 2 yrs ago! I don't know why he doesn't want to try again.. Ugh! Frustrated!
