I wish I was more savy in regards to blood tests. I just know that 4 to 5 vials are taken each time! The bloodwork that I get every 2 weeks, now once a month is for liver enzimes. Perhaps you can mention having the liver blood test done.

The main tests I'm aware of are double-stranded DNA, sed rate and compliments. A chemistry should be taken too. I'm sure there are others but these are the ones I know are taken every time as well as a urinalysis if you're having protein issues. If you are sick, you definitely should insist that he delves more completely into what's going on with you. I hope you get some information soon and start to feel better.

How about I just start passing my blood out, that way no one has to go through all of it. LOL, seems like I have an endless supply anyway these says. I think thats why I am loosing so much wieght, they have taken all my blood.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I agree with Sylvie, I will trade your blood for my weight, Sherry. I was doing so good losing my baby weight until I started on lovely steroids. Well, my appointment went good today and I am getting all of the bloodwork done. He is keeping me on steroids and plaquenil and giving it one more month. If I am not better in 4 weeks, I am going on methotexrate. I can't stay on steroids too long because I already have osteperosis (in my 30s :( 2 fractures in 2 years) and he told me I could break a bone like that - snapped his fingers - right now on Prednisone. But he doesn't want to take me off because it is at least helping me get out of bed in the morning. He said my lupus is very active right now. So we'll see...MTX scares me because my oldest just started kindergarten and will it make me get every illness I'm exposed to since it is an immunosuppresant? Any info. would be appreciated because I know nothing about it. But I do know this is no life not even being able to handle day to day with my kids. I need to do something to make myself better. So sorry we have to deal with this-especially with little ones. How are you doing on the steroids? What is your current dose? I am currently down to 5mg. Yesterday I tried to cut back and big-mistake I got another headache, and have had it since 4pm yesterday-OMG-so I guess I will go back on my 5mg today. I started MTX-last week---yesterday was my 2nd time taking it. I could not take the Plaq. anymore because I had the headaches--but Im starting to think the headaches are just part of the LUpus--
I am also worried about catching something from my kids with school starting.--I almost want to hang a sanitizer at the door-to make eveyone disinfect their hands as they walk in the house-LOL
Anyway-I wish you well-and hope your blood work comes out ok.
