Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.
I remain hopeful, but I noticed the improvement only lasted about a day and a half. Right now I am back to where I started. Did you find that to be true for you as well?
I am praying that is the reason they stack the treatments the way they do (to build up the medication in your system so it lasts longer).
I think I may have put too much belief that this would be the cure all and am a bit disappointed that it did not last longer.
Do you notice that you are still limited on physical abilities even though you have some relief?
I went on a trip this weekend and think I may have pushed myself a little to much because I was feeling better. Don't know if this is going to be the way it is from now on but concerned that I may feel better but will still be limited in the amount of physical activity my body can handle.
My rheumy put me on Benlysta because I can not take Plaquenil (had a bad reaction to it) and methotrexate is doing nothing for me. I am going for my third treatment today. So far I have noticed minimal changes but they said it could take up to a year!
