this form of cancer likes to double in size, and it loves to come back on the brain and in the back,
My mom has small cell lung cancer as well that spread to her brain. I can report that she is doing well. She finished up her last treatment of rediation. I think it's ok for her to act a bit cocki, because of what she is going through, and when she feels bad, I she it's bad, and when she feels good, She is probably gretful for that. I know how you feel. It's hard to have to be the one taking care of everything, but she may need to do this in her own.
one day last week went to grab something out of freezer that's when i guess my adrenal gland burst/bleeding i dropped everything pain worse than childbirth.Took a couple nor co nothing than a muscle relaxer finally it started to subside and my back relaxed from arching. I thought nothing of it just that I pulled a muscle or something.
About a week later I thought perhaps i had pneumonia because i had an upper G I done .Had a dry cough couldn't cough up anything than in the evening started shortness of breath.A friend grabbed me went in to urgent care x ray showed lungs clear. did an EKG didn't look good thought perhaps a embolism /blood clot in my lung from the procedure done earlier. Sent me in ambulance saying something definitely wrong after the er Dr she didn't know what it was but she was admitting me she needed to find out.She ordered a ct with contrast. Bingo she come back said it's not my specialty so i can't confirm but you have a small mass in your lung and a couple other spots as well. That after midnight like 1:00 a.m. the Pulmonary team got together going over everything.Even though they thought it looked like cancer didn't know for sure. So that late morning decided cuss my breathing is being compromised they need to fix that and at the same time take a biopsy. So under GA I had a broncos-copy down my airway along with other instruments took the biopsy from my left lung airway where the blockage was able to widen the opening up some and inflate my lung.
Now I'm waiting today for the scheduler to set up my appointments to do a pet scan of my brain to check than after pulmonary team along with their oncology team decide which option is the best to be aggressive get these masses to shrink get me stabilized than contact my daughter to transition me to her state where I lived for 30 years (came where I am to have knee replacement than do hospice with my mother who had ovarian cancer ) my friends here in the meantime are wonderful they are helping in every way, going to go to my treatments, they cook clean and getting boxes going to little by little have all my things packed so when my daughter comes they can just load up.My dad had small cell lived 18 months but that was in 1994 and treatments are better i'm told people can live a bit longer than in those days. I'm still in shock scared of course but this is 1 of the 10 hospitals nation wide that specializes in this high tech so when I do transition these Dr s are going to be the leaders of my game plan up there by my daughters. One day at a time trying to keep myself stress free as it speeds up my breathing not good. Doing only small task a day. Trying to keep how much time do I have left out of mind i tell myself their are worse off than me. it's so hard but doing the best I can. Thank you all for listening to my story. I really needed to vent it all out.
