So my step dad has had 4 of 6 chemo treatments the radiation to the chest and as precaution radiation to the brain. Today we got the best best best news!! Dr not ready to say he's cured but he isn't scared to say he truly thinks it will be cured. I had to share this news with someone because of course he wants to give the news to the family. God is great but I always knew he'd be in the 20% that gets cured.

Yeah it is hard to stop. They say it's worse than alcohol to stop. IDK.. I was never a smoker. My son always said he would never smoke but I guess that changed when he turned 18 or 19.. He got into the vap smoking awhile back and I don't know which is worse for his health.. Popcorn lungs or lung cancer.. He is back to regular cigs due to the cost or ease of bumming from my mom and step dad.. All I can do is pray they all quit and never help them continue smoking. At some point they'll quiet when they wind up in a nursing home I guess. :(

I read an article where it compared trying to stop smoking to trying to stop using heroin and it said that nicotine was harder! That's funny ( not haha funny) that your son smokes. Neither I or my siblings smoke but some of their kids do. Like it skips a generation. Really weird. Probably cause they didn't grow up having constant secondhand smoke and deal with all the other gross parts of smoking like we had to. I have plenty of scars from running to mom and running straight into her cigarette! Seems like it got me every time! I'll pray for your son to realize that it's not worth it! Hope you and the rest of your family are still doing well.

I never thought of it that way, about it skipping generations.. Yeah that could be it, although his "second family" did smoke.. I think for him it was peer pressure just strange it didn't press him until years later. Luckily I don't remember running into any red hot cherries and getting burned. I do remember going to the gas station in our little town and buying her cigs for my mother when I was 10. It's crazy to think that just a note from someone was all it took to buy cigs. LOL I was too young to know I was killing her. I would never buy them for her now.

My family is doing fairly well.. I had a little stent of sickness the other week but it seems to be gone now. Was scared tho. thought and still do think it might be heart related. I had a heart attack last year in June and I wasn't too anxious until the other day..

anyway.. happy easter I hope you're able to enjoy it.. Prayers continue.
