I would not allow your mom to be alone in the hospital or at home with hospice. They care to the minimum and your mom may need care that she only feels comfortable allowing you do do. And, sometimes when they know a patient is terminal...they just don't do as much. Fight for your mom's rights...fight to make sure she has her pain medication...I did and my heart know I did everything in my power to make her as comfortble as possible. If your employer is caring...they will have your job for you when you return. Mine wasn't...I didn't want to be with heartless people so I left...yes, even after 10 hardworking years as a supervisor!
