why is it worth sticking to?
innocence.
One phone call changed both our lives in such a wonderful way.
We are going through some up and downs.
But there is never a day that I think he is not worth the wait. Now I know what people mean when they say "you'll just know when you meet them". I love him for everything he is. I know he is not perfect but there's never a doubt that I love him even though we come from two different worlds!
I'm very nervous as I am also in a not so great relationship. This LDR was strictly friendship, and sometimes I miss that. My current partner knows of this and of course he believes I'm guilty before proven innocent. The man has not even arrived and already I'm shamed. Yes, I guess I am emotionally cheating on him, but at least it's not the real thing, like he did to me long ago..
My friend is coming all the way from the Netherlands. He wants to go fast and possibly if we feel it, maybe even get engaged. I am also jumping from one relationship to another. I just can't begin to take any of this seriously til he actually arrives. I would be a fool to jump.
but oh how this man sends me over the moon. I think DS is a sweet place to meet others like ourselves. It's not a dating sight, but sometimes those are the places where we are least likely to think we will meet our potential soulmate.....i never intended on this happening. Good luck to everyone in this situation.
My husband and I have been together for 4 years (married for 2). A year after being together, we moved from Oregon to PA so I could go to graduate school out here. The last 3 years have been miserable. He HATES it here, HATES his job, HATES everything about the east coast. He has just not adapted. So, we have decided that he should move back to Portland without me. I have 3-4 more years of school (and even after I get my phd, there is no gaurantee I could get a job in Portland--you have to go where the jobs are).
So, he is looking for jobs right now in Portland, and as soon as he gets one, he'll move back west. We'll be separated for a minimum of 3 years, and unless he gets a good salary, we won't be able to see each other very often (I am only a graduate student and make a small salary). I really am afraid of living alone and how much I am going to miss him. I hope our marriage can withstand the distance. Any advice you guys have would be great!
Last Saturday night he ask me to marry him.
I'm a bit overwhelmed.
I went down to Melbourne for a mini break. 4months after a big bust up with my ex. A mutual friend of ours got us back in touch. We spent 10hrs together, coffee, driving, talking then ended up at dinner. NO physical (peck), but then started txting and then calling and then i went back to spend 3 days with him! We spent a romantic weekend together and it was amazing!
Every day on the phone, txt etc, then another visit 4 weeks later. We did a roadtrip and i stayed with him for 4 days. Unreal. We swapped gifts (co-incidentally both gifted each other with crystals) he gave me cd's and a beautiful card. It was like 14yrs ago but we are wiser, deeper and similar more than ever. Both love meditation, reading etc.
There is definitely a major connection, we talk for 3hrs or 2hrs some nights.
BUT the leaving is hard. We decided to slow down considering all i've been through and the distance and learning how to be with someone again (he has been alone for 4yrs and been through alot also, he gets depression which makes when we part hard, he is really down for days...BUT he's fine and back after that...).
So we are trying to slow down BUT i really want to continue how we were, trust the process and i believe in us. he is scared.
Fri night we talked for 3hrs, laughed and our txt's etc are daily. Sat night 2hrs, Sun night 30mins...So much love there.
I adore him and he adores me...Long distance is hard! 1hr flight but still....I'm in Sydney.
I already know i would move there. He lived here when we were together and his job and situation is best there. I SO would move and he knows i slot in nicely into his life, home etc..
So we are currently in "slow down" slow mode I find it hard cause i miss him and jus twant to plan my next visit but we aren't doing Dec.
We booked holidays in Jan to spend together, so i really hope he doesn't think that's too soon. i am treading gently for now..
Our mutual friend just wants him to embrace it and go for it, so do i..But he's a very delicate soul. part of why i love him!
