I understand about parents. I think they try to understand and they want to help, but sometimes, they just do not know how. I'm very thankful to have my parents. Even though we don't always get along, and we don't always understand one another, I don't know what I would do without them. Everyday I think about what I'm thankful for. Yes, things could always be better, but in many ways they could be much worse. Hope you feel better, hugs. :-)
It can help if you put those positive things on post-its. Put them in areas you frequent to remind you of the good person that you are. If you struggle to think of positive things, ask your friends and the people at DS that have gotten to know you what they like about you.
I did an exercise similar to this in a women's group. I was shocked of the nice things others saw in me that I didn't. Or I had forgotten my strengths and positive traits.

You come across as being articulate and intelligent. You are also polite and thoughtful from things I have read. These are some more positive traits.
If you take a local job, you can save money for a used car. Then you can get a better job farther away. My son rode a bicycle to work, saved money and bought a car.
Things are doable when a person is determined. It takes baby steps to make big strides.
