Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people. The lonely person may find it difficult or even impossible to have any...
I'm lonely because my mother passed away over three years ago (January 15th 2011). She and I would go out downtown a lot and would eat together. I lived with her when I first came back from TX in 2007. I don't know my father at all and I'm not close to my remaining family. If it weren't for my boyfriend's I would have no family. I do wish his family lived closer. They all live two hours away.
I am only lonely because I choose not to have friends, I pretty much am with my fiance and family. But when I am not with either one of these, I do feel lonely. Because I need friends, but I don't trust other women around my fiance because I had a very good friend of mine make a pass at my 2nd husband, and never got passed it. We eventually divorced, Trust for me is the biggest issue I have.
I will lose a relationship now quicker because of lack of trust to protect myself. NOt to hurt someone else, that alone is very lonely.
Hi,
I think your your last sentence says lots. About sharing craving thots. Being able to say that IMHO is a big step towards getting it together.
It's a question; although I don't know what the next step -- an nswer -- might be. I have a couple or so obvious guesses, but am not knowledgable , really.
I *would say* without someone to talk to or journalling, in the long run it might not good. Those thoughts are not to be suppressed. IMHO. Not completely. They are part of who you are.

I too am disabled and poor and so that limits me on places to go or things to do.
I live in a small country town where there is not much going on.
I also have chronic pain and that too limits me on doing quite a bit.
It just makes me feel pretty pathetic when most people my age have built a life for themselves! My life right now mostly consists of going to AA meetings and being at home most of the time. I wish I really had this "lavish" lifestyle people seem to think I have! I don't open up to a lot of people about my life because I just don't want to hear things like "Just get over it!" I've been suffering since I was 3 years old with so many issues so that just isn't going to happen! It would be nice to have more friends than I do simply for having the chance to talk to others who know where I'm coming from!
If one is cautious in building a friendship or cordial acquaintance, one has better opportunity to evaluate character.
Of course one's slowness too often loses the interest of ordinary ppl. Who is left? : ppl who have been hurt, who have thot it thru, and are willing *also* to go slow.
