New here - but not to the board. Grief has brought me to loneliness that I can no longer handle after losing two parents. Not afraid of being alone but while it seems some posters are looking for a significant other, I'm just plain lonely. I can read my feelings in some of your posts. Maybe, being alone with my thoughts is hardest - I don't know. A friend lives upstairs but I've leaned on them too much and caused emotional friction to the point where they may leave, so I'm VERY cautious. Last night, for the first time, the loneliness hit an all-time high (or low). I nearly called my neighbor to ask if I could bring some bedding over and sleep there. Suddenly, I heard my friend's footsteps on the stairs - like water in the desert - some tea, TV, and my gratitude. I'm becoming a basket case of fear of being deserted. That's loneliness.
