I think, like a lot of ppl here, I have tried to make friends and have not always been successful with it. Some of the time, but not all of the time. I know that I have worked out some personality issues that I have had, being too intense, depressive, anxious, etc, and clingy. Still, there have been some gaps. Now that I have mellowed quite a bit, ppl say to me, 'you don't seem like much of a type-a personality' which I used to struggle with. I take this as a good thing. Now ppl frequently invite me to do things, yet, something seems off. I take them up on their invitations, then they bolt. (I never used to get invited to do much anyway so it's still a big improvement). For instance, I was sewing with some women, who were much older than I am, but it was nice. I went out of town with one of them, and she just never spoke to me again, was kind of weird. Just stopped taking my phone calls. Then, someone from my job said that she needed to make friends, and wanted to go to a movie; she was really enthused about it. So, when vacation came, I texted her and let her know about a movie, then she disappeared. Also, the same with a new person in town, really wanted to go for a bike ride and wanted to know when. When I said we could go when I was back in town, I contacted her, then never heard from her again. Makes me feel strange. Kinda scratching my head a bit. When I told her I went camping, she said, 'oh you made friends!" as though I didn't have any to begin with. Weird.

Sometimes I feel hopeless about making friends, but then I realize that I have no choice but to continue trying with new people if I don't want to be alone the rest of my life.
Ive had lots of people come and go from my Life but my true friends are the ones I can go months without talking and when we get together its like nothing has changed, Cest Le vie.. Life is very arbitrary that way :) it makes it more exciting though... ANYWAYS

The online friends I used to hear from have disappeared. I'm trying to make new friends by going to meet ups. I have 3 meet ups I'm going to, one each month. You might go their website and find a group that covers your interests
