I never realized how profoundly alone I am. I grew up in a cult (cults are very tiny and by nature, one of the worst things they do to you, is they are EXTREMELY isolating). I left a couple years ago, losing the majority of what little community I had. After that my abusive parent became extremely dangerous, and I fled home. I had a few childhood friends, but they all grew up knowing my family and their parents are acquaintances with this parent, etc...I barely even used to realize this parent was abusive, so I didn't talk about it much. Because of all that, there's no way they would believe/grasp what happened (I barely could, it was so shockingly bad & serious). I found a loose relative to run away to, but she was pretty bad herself. Did not get much privacy and got a lot of intimidation. It was an isolating situation, with no car, etc. I'm agoraphobic, or on the spectrum anyways. Anyways, I literally had no one for over a year. The most complicated part of my story is that by very extenuating circumstances combined with resourcelessness I ended up back at home. I thought I would have to try to leave right away (they were out of town for a while). There has been a kind of honeymoon period with the abusive parent, probably because I blew them off completely for soo long. They have been safer, but I know things will return and I'll have to leave again. My agoraphobia, when I live at home, is most of the time intensely crippling. Makes it almost impossible to break this world of profound loneliness in which I am caught.

The best antidepressant is when my wishes are honored. An example, the faucet in my apartment was running although the knobs were turned shut all the way, and one of the pulling strings on my ceiling fan came off. As soon as I notified my maintenance man, he was quick to reply with the work order. RAPID response... he's getting my services around my apartment done. I appreciate my landlord and...

Is there a Y? Anything at all would be better for you.
both my worthless dad and evil incarnate mom isolated me---i'm glad they're both dead.
i'm alone, with no friends---though at least i have disability, and able to live by myself. otherwise, i'd be sleeping in a carboard box on a sidewalk.
go to some lawyer that specializes in disability, or go to social security office yourself. and to hud to get on LONG waiting list for an apartment. DO IT NOW. FORCE YOURSELF----cause the waiting lists are long. i'm on a five year long waiting list for an apartment in another county.
if you stay around your parents, old ways will pop up, including them probably convincing yourself that you're no good----that's what my scumbag nutcase parents did to me.
(1) Call the main office of your City and ask to speak with a social worker. Get an appointment with the social worker and then when you go in explain your family is a cult with a dangerous parent and you need help to get out and stay out. You have tried and can't survive on your own. Let them try to help you.
(2) I know there is a group Jewish Family & Children Services that helps people of all faiths and non-beliefs that need help. they also have chapters to help those escape cults in New York. Maybe you want to call the one closest to you and ask them if they can help or refer you to one of their places that can help. Below is the name, address and phone number of the one closest to you.
