Loneliness Support Group
Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people. The lonely person may find it difficult or even impossible to have any...

You have to clean up all your messes by yourself or enjoy living in a pigpen. (plus it's depressing!)
Water activities are always more fun with two! Besides who soaps your back?
Your TV becomes your only friend; it's the only think talking to you.
You never get to share your life with anyone, look over their shoulder at whatever it is they're doing....
OK the fridge I gotta agree with, except to say that you gotta do all the shopping for it.
Oh, you're cooking for one, you eat leftovers a lot and you never have pleasant dinner conversation (just the damn TV!)
No one to sleep with!
And yeah, it is the little things that count; you miss a lot of little nice things when you're alone! Hope you find somebody nice to share your life with!
Wendyhi: *comes along, rolls eyes, and picks apart entire post highlighting every negative counter she can think of (imputing both redicule and sarcasm) without any regard of heretic's own feelings of loneliness*
Seriously Wendyhi? This is a SUPPORT group, not a letdown club. Go be a sociopath somewhere else.
Those ARE the little things that make it so good! I don't get to have them now, and 5 years on I still miss them SO much! Best time of my life was when I lived alone. It was so unstressful, and when I got lonely, I'd play my guitar for hours or drive myself to the coast and sit and feel like a little part of something so much bigger...
I loved your post, its so positive and looking after yourself. {{HUGS}}
I liked Heretic's post...a lot!
Where your life is today, in this moment is perfectly acceptable and we should celebrate the little things, the freedoms, the joys, someday there may come a time when I become half of 2, but right now I have a lot of healing to do, can't get out much, need to make the very best of the little things and celebrate.
I cannot live a best life thinking about what I don't have, what I want someday, it does not give me joy, peace.
I'm learning each and every day to be content with where I am, what I have, what I GET TO DO, because of my health situation. This list was a smell the roses post for me and a good one.
I'm not trying to negate what you share Wendy, for some of us, getting out, dating, meeting others within our current situations is like walking on the moon...can't do it right now...will things change? I hope so, I hope my health stabilizes and I can again drive, travel, visit, socialize, play, do things I used to be able to do...but for now, I have been given a different choice, to be happy in it or unhappy without it. I choose to accept my limitations, do things in degrees and feel good about it...best to all!
You don't have to share unless you want to. You have compete control over your own corner of the universe at all times.
I am disabled and live alone. I also belong to several support groups/forums for people with my illness. Overall, those who live alone are far happier than those who do not. I just need to think back on the horror stories I have read about how family (and friends) have treated victims of this illness in order to be reminded how lucky I am not to be stressed and tormented as they are by having to live in close proximity to these people 24/7.
Sure, at times living alone can be hard. But you have a refuge, a place where you - and only you - call the shots. A sanctuary. Anybody who crosses the threshold into your sanctuary must be given express permission to do so. If you disapprove of their behavior, you are free to toss them out.
Not everyone has this luxury.
I like living alone for some of same reasons as Heretic...I can come and go as I choose. I can clean if I want to not because someone else wants me to. I can leave my dishes until I am ready to run the dishwasher. I can sleep....and I do when I want to....last night I was sleeping at 6pm....and all the night thru I was up and down to BR.....I also stayed in bed into the mid morning...ah my bed and I are great friends...I practically spend all my time in my home in my bed against the headboard with pillows and watching TV or Interneting with others...
peace comes in not sharing my space with another. Not that I would not share it if there were another to share with. That is not my reason for living without others.....I guess I am not social enough to have good relationships with people. I know I take hostages when a friend is available. my bad character.....
thinking of the positive I like that I live without fear of someone causing me grief within my own home....there is no one who can do that to me!
