Loneliness Support Group
Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. i can completely understand how you feel. i'm 45 and don't have any close people or friends to share with. i feel i burden my oldest sister with the numerous family issues we have. she politely listens, but rarely shares or opens up. i think i exhaust her. it's just that i soo long for true, meaningful relationships! i too can be fun and lighthearted, it's just sometimes i want to talk about 'real' issues. ugh.
this site has a been a Godsend. my virtual friends here are terrific, supportive, wonderful and understanding. it's really helped me to be this way more in the real world, and has helped me with some of the many issues i have.
would you consider getting another dog or a cat?
i know it's not the answer, but they do make wonderful companions.
i'd have more cats if it was socially acceptable with my family. i have 3 persians who bring me so much happiness.
keep posting. i belong to many support groups here.
glad you're here.

We have to understand that everyone has different levels of tolerance, empathy, and patience. They may be having their own problems that they're dealing with that they might not care to mention. Some are affected by others' moods (that's how I am) and maybe don't want to be brought down. Some just don't plain understand or know how to respond, unless they've been through the same thing. It's not that other people don't care, it's just that not everyone has the strength that we might be expecting or needing.
There's a lot of people here that are understanding and patient, so feel free to let it all out whenever you need to here, Judith. Don't ever feel you need to hold back here. :)
A lot of us here are better at fixing someone else's problems and not our own. We are always read to try to help.
