Loneliness Support Group
Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people. The lonely person may find it difficult or even impossible to have any...
Hi I'm new here and I'm 27 years old. I get depressed sometimes because I haven't had any friends for a long time, and I don't have much family it's just my mom. I wish I had some kind of coed social group with other young adults, I've had trouble finding any and because of Covid19 they are even more scarce. I've never had a girlfriend but I've tried and I've only been on two dates ever, I wish I had a girl to be friends with. I've tried online dating sites a few times with absolutely no success, nobody ever talks to me or responds to my messages even though I'm friendly and polite. I have trouble sleeping sometimes because of the loneliness, I hate going to bed sometimes in my lonely quiet bedroom. Theirs a couple of girls that are my neighbors but I haven't seen any oppurtunities to meet and talk to one. I don't know how or when I'll find some kind of social group or site. I guess I'll just be a lonely guy for the rest of my life, but I'm sort of used to it but I'd like to have some friends and change that. I'm not sure where to make friends my age though, online or in real life.

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...
Or do you go to school?
Where do you go usually every day, what kinds of things do you like doing every day?
Sometimes we need to get outside and talk to people and that can lead to friendships and dating.
Also, once I wrote to an advice columnist on how to make new friends, and she said the best way to do it is to join something, then be CONSISTENT with whatever club or online thing you choose. If you go often enough, people will warm up to you. It takes a while, though, to make new friends, its a slow process, people have to get to know you first. Anyhow, I liked her advice, to show up at events/online consistently, then people will remember you.
Overall health and emotions are related. During my down moments, I started to avoid junk food, eat healthier stuff and took enjoyable walks all by myself, breathing the fresh air, smiling at little kids and cute dogs along the way, just enjoying life. You do that and good hormones will start pumping around your body. You have to start with yourself. You are your best friend. I also watched less tv and went to the library instead. Feed your brain with good stuff.
When you start to you have a positive outlook, people will notice because you bring in energy and goodness, instead of being sullen all the time. People can see through you and sadness, unfortunately, drives people away. People want to laugh and have a good time. You have to be authentic, of course, so the sooner you start appreciating things, the more lively you will become. Again, it will take some time but every single right step gets you closer. The healthier you are, mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually, the higher your chances of attracting people and maintaining healthier relationships. So, go ahead and work on yourself first before anything else.
Prayers bro.
